6 weeks!

Ty is 6 weeks today and noticeably heavier! He's filling out that long little body :) His eyes are getting lighter and we expect them to turn green at some point.

5 Weeks

Ty is 5 weeks old today! Last night we enjoyed the great weather and let the puppies out to run around in the backyard. (They have a nice covered home in the backyard, but we got them out for some exercise and for our amusement). The puppies are 4 weeks old, so in another 4 weeks we will be finding new homes for them. 5 yellows and 4 blacks. The other pictures were taken last Friday when Ty was in a good mood :) The boot picture was Jerett's idea; he just got new boots and Ty can fit in one!

Long, Lean, and Strong

We learned at yesterday's one month check-up that Ty is in the 95th percentile for length and 25-50th for weight. He's 23 inches long and 9lb, 2oz at one month. The pediatrician said most babies don't like "tummy time" but Ty doesn't seem to mind. As soon as we put him on his tummy his legs get going and he scoots around clockwise. He'll pick his head up then put it down to rest. Last night he even flipped from his stomach to his back three times! The books/articles I have read say this usually happens at 2-3 months. By the way, the first picture makes his head look out of proportion with his body... it was the angle... the other three pics are more accurate!

First Smile on Camera!

Jerett and Ty's playtime is one of my best opportunities to get good pictures of Ty so far. All but one of these were taken Saturday, so at 25 days old. The stroller shot was Sunday, when I had a senior portrait session. It was really warm outside and Ty was cooperative for the duration of the session.

24 days old

Jerett and Ty played together last night, and the feet picture was Jerett's idea... we'll just have to wait to see how big Ty's feet grow to be. We speculate about him being a basketball player, which sounds great to me since I'm somewhat of a fair-weather fan... the controlled climate of a gym beats the cold February baseball games I have attended!

Bath time was this morning. He's enjoying it more now that I learned from my friend Jennie Loftis to put a warm washcloth on his tummy while I'm bathing him. We haven't graduated to the sink yet; Ty stays in the bouncer. After realizing I bathed him with shampoo, I re-did the job with body wash, so he's extra clean today :)

26 years; 3 weeks

3/3/09, square root day, was my 26th birthday and also Ty's 3 week mark! Jerett took us out to dinner and snapped a few pictures of us before we left. The next time we have a "square root day" will be 4/4/16 and Ty will be 7 years old! Whoa!

17 days

These pics are from last Friday when Ty was 17 days old. He does smile, however, I never have the camera in hand when he does! I'll catch him one of these days. For now, it's more of his serious expressions with eye brows scrunched and lowered. This past weekend we made our first trip to Marble Falls, so Ty got to meet Uncle Jason, Aunt Jenny, our friends Katherine and Matt. Both couples are expecting babies in the next few months. Ty will have a cousin 5 months behind him, Journey.
